Tour Plan

The journey starts with a 5-hour drive from either Entebbe or Kampala to Fort Portal, a
beautiful town in western Uganda. As you travel, you'll be treated to stunning views of tea
plantations, lush green mountains, and the vibrant culture of local communities along the
way. Upon reaching Fort Portal, you’ll have the option to visit the fascinating Amabeere
Caves, known for their geological formations and cultural significance to the Bachwezi
people. Afterward, you’ll check into your lodge near Kibale Forest National Park, where
you’ll rest in anticipation of the next day’s exciting chimpanzee encounter

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a
briefing and be assigned a chimp group for the habituation experience. This experience starts
early to catch the chimps as they wake up in their nests. Throughout the day, you’ll follow the
chimps as they forage, interact, and go about their routine, providing a rare and prolonged
glimpse into their behavior. Along the way, you might also see other wildlife, including black
and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and various bird species—Kibale is home to
over 138 types of birds, such as the black bee-eater and crowned eagle.
After a late lunch back at your lodge, you’ll have the chance to explore the Bigodi Wetland
Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation project. The wetland is rich in wildlife,
including over 10 primate species, and is an excellent spot for birdwatching. The proceeds
from the walk directly support the local communities, helping them conserve and manage the
wetland sustainabl

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before starting your drive back to either
Kampala or Entebbe. En route, you’ll have the option to stop at the Equator for some photos
and a quick break. Upon reaching Entebbe, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport,
marking the end of your chimp habituation adventure
