Experience the best of northern Tanzania in five exciting days, combining a wildlife safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro with a Kilimanjaro day hike along the Marangu Route. The safari offers opportunities to see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife across Tanzania’s famous national parks, while the Kilimanjaro day hike takes you through the mountain’s lush rainforest toward Mandara Hut, around 2,700 m above sea level.

Tour Plan

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short briefing with your safari guide, drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately 2–3 hours away. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant population, ancient baobab trees and seasonal wildlife-rich swamps.

Upon arrival, begin your game drive through the park, exploring its diverse landscapes and searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelopes and numerous bird species. Your guide will help you spot wildlife and explain the animals, vegetation and ecosystem of the park.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing with the afternoon game drive. Later, leave the park and proceed to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Selected lodge/campsite
Meals: Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, depart for the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before reaching the Serengeti.

As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape opens into vast grass-covered plains where wildlife can often be seen from the roadside. After entering the park, begin your game drive while making your way toward your accommodation.

The Serengeti is home to large populations of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, hyenas and many other species. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, your guide will choose areas with good opportunities for sightings.

Enjoy lunch during the day before continuing with an afternoon game drive. In the evening, head to your accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Overnight: Serengeti
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Wake up early for breakfast and prepare for a full day of exploring the Serengeti. The morning is an excellent time for wildlife viewing, when many animals are active and temperatures are cooler.

Spend the day exploring the Serengeti plains with your experienced safari guide. You may encounter prides of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, hippos and, with luck, cheetahs or leopards. Your guide will adapt the route according to wildlife activity and current conditions.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the safari and continue exploring the park into the afternoon. Later, begin the drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Simba Campsite, where you will have dinner and spend the night surrounded by the natural atmosphere of the conservation area.

Overnight: Simba Campsite, Ngorongoro
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim and descend into the crater for an exciting morning game drive. Often described as one of Tanzania's most remarkable wildlife areas, the crater provides an opportunity to see a wide variety of animals within a relatively compact area.

Explore the crater floor and look for lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and numerous bird species. With luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino. Your guide will select suitable areas for wildlife viewing while allowing time to appreciate the crater's scenery.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before beginning the ascent. After leaving the crater, continue your journey toward Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. Your safari ends upon arrival at your hotel or another agreed location in Arusha.

Overnight: Arusha
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Kilimanjaro National Park. Today you will experience Mount Kilimanjaro on a day hike via the Marangu Route, one of the mountain's most well-known routes.

Upon arrival at Marangu Gate, complete the park registration before beginning your hike. The trail takes you through the beautiful lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, passing through lush montane rainforest. Along the way, you can enjoy the peaceful forest environment, mountain vegetation and, with luck, sightings of monkeys and different bird species.

Continue toward the Mandara Hut area, taking breaks along the trail to rest and enjoy the surroundings. After spending time in the mountain environment, begin the descent back toward Marangu Gate.

Meet your vehicle and drive back to Arusha. Arrive in the afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 5-day Tanzania safari and Kilimanjaro adventure.
