Tour Plan
After breakfast in Arusha, you’ll be transferred to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park, where your climb begins. As you ascend through lush montane forest, keep your eyes open for giraffes, buffalos, colobus monkeys, and a variety of birds along the trail. The hike today is steady and scenic, leading you to Miriakamba Hut (2,500m) where you'll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. The day’s trek takes about 5–6 hours.
After a hearty breakfast, you'll start the trek through the open heath and moorland zone. This leg offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the dramatic Meru Crater. You’ll reach Saddle Hut at 3,570 meters in about 3–4 hours. In the afternoon, there's an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for panoramic views before returning to Saddle Hut for dinner and rest in preparation for the early summit push.
Your summit day begins around 1:00 AM with a steep hike through rocky terrain, reaching Rhino Point and then Cobra Point, where the sunrise over Kilimanjaro is truly breathtaking. After several hours, you’ll reach the summit of Socialist Peak (4,566m) — the reward for your hard work and determination. Take in the sweeping views of the crater and surrounding landscape before descending back to Saddle Hut for a short break and meal. You’ll then continue down to Miriakamba Hut and transfer back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
