The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most iconic and breathtaking safari destinations in Tanzania. Formed from a collapsed ancient volcano, it’s the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Located in the northern safari circuit, it offers an unmatched wildlife-viewing experience all year round.
Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Crater is often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden” thanks to its stunning scenery and dense concentration of animals.
At Kale Voyage, we offer unforgettable safari experiences into the Ngorongoro Crater that are ideal for couples, families, photographers, and wildlife lovers.
Highlights include:
✅ Witness the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, and Leopard.
✅ Spot rare Black Rhinos in their natural habitat.
✅ Experience incredible scenery from the Crater rim (over 2,200 meters high).
✅ Enjoy a full-day game drive with a professional guide.
✅ Optional Maasai cultural visit near the Crater.
Our safaris are available as day trips from Karatu or Arusha, or as part of a longer Tanzania safari package including Serengeti and Tarangire.
The Ngorongoro Crater offers great game viewing all year round, but the dry season (June to October) is the best for wildlife viewing due to shorter grass and higher animal visibility. The wet season (November to May) is lush and green and perfect for bird watchers.
We offer both private and group safaris to the Ngorongoro Crater. Below are some of our popular packages:
